Cyber-Monday-Specials for Back-to-School Season

Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

Experts are worried about the slow build up for the 2009 back-to-school season. Normally, we’re bombarded by back-to-school specials by mid-July, but with the declining economy too many consumers are holding off to make their purchases.

For you Cyber Monday Special hunters this Labor Day, be on the lookout. Based on the USA Today article “Bleak back-to-school shopping season looms” there will be a drop in spending of around 4% to 8% on students compared to this time last year. Since back-to-school shopping is the premier predictor of holiday season spending trends, there is a likely chance that retailers will have to make some enticing offers to push consumers into their stores.

Since sales are low right now, it also forces retailers to guess what trends will be hot or not this Fall. There is a great possibility that your favorite store will have a ton of overstock summer merchandise come this Labor Day.

Remember these cyber Monday special rules:

  1. Buy out of season
  2. Always look at clearance deals
  3. Search coupon codes for your favorite retailer
  4. Be on the lookout for the 2009 Sales Tax Holidays in your state.
